  • “We All Know Someone”: SAFAR Takes the Issue of False AI Accusations to WAFB

On January 22, 2026, SAFAR was featured on WAFB, highlighting our efforts to address false AI cheating allegations and promote responsible AI use at LSU. The segment focused on how our team gathers student experiences and raises awareness about the impact of misattributed AI use, emphasizing transparency and fairness in academic evaluation. SAFAR leaders also discussed ongoing initiatives, including documentation efforts and advocating for clearer policies on AI in the classroom.

Jude Terrell, SAFAR’s president, told WAFB, “We all know someone who’s dealt with AI cheating allegations. I think it really puts in the hearts of every student how much of a real issue this is, and I think that can produce within many students an urgency to actually do something.”

SAFAR is dedicated to fostering an informed and responsible AI community while protecting students from misinformation and unjust allegations.
